Mass Action in the Ruhr Area
Ende Gelände is a German climate justice alliance. Since 2015, we’ve been organising large-scale mass actions against the fossil fuel industry. Through our determined protest, we achieved the coal phase-out in Germany.
Social crises are escalating at all fronts and Germany, whilst re-militarizing itself, also aims to fuel the current ‘global boiling’ by building up to 20 new fossil gas power plants – seriously?! We say: No freaking way!
Spearheaded by Katherina Reiche (Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Energy + corrupt gas lobbyist in personal union), the re-militarising German state is enforcing this fossil expansion with billions in subsidies – on top of hundreds of billions for its war machine. If we don’t step up pressure now, the coal phase-out turns into a toxic gas lock-in, whilst the logics of war further fan the flames of a violent destruction of life.
Building new gas infrastructure is not only an expensive assault on social infrastructures but also a climate crime that further attacks the livelihood of already affected Global Majority Communities. End colonial violence! End the gifts for fossil corporations! With a powerful mass action of civil disobedience, we will stand united against the societal and fossil rollback!
For a good life beyond capitalism and (imperialistic) wars. For public control of energy. For global social and climate justice!
From our action camp in the Ruhr Area, we will shut down harmful infrastructure together and across movements. Join us!
