Corona and Repression 2020
As legal team, Corona poses new challenges for all of us, just like for other structures. We cannot predict with certainty whether there will be different repressions than in recent years due to the IfSG (Law for the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases in Humans) and the Corona Protection Regulation of North Rhine Westphalia.
Meetings are generally permitted according to the regulation valid in NRW (16.09.2020). This means that the participation in such meetings does not constitute a criminal offense. Nevertheless, there may be fines for violations of the Corona Protection Regulation in individual cases.
People have been thinking about how we can meet at camps and in action and minimize the risk of infection. Read the hygiene concept for this.
There will be anonymous lists for the tracing of infections. You should get a Corona-ID on the EG-Homepage, even if you don’t go directly into the action, but support on the camp or at other places. How exactly the tracking works and how your anonymity is maintained at the same time, you can read here.
One component of repression, however, is always its arbitrariness and unpredictability. We can never foresee how an action will work out or who will be affected by repression. The Legal Team is available day and night during the action. Our solidarity against their repressions – No one is left behind!
