April 2026 ++ Ende Gelände Announces Massive Resistance Against New Gas-Fired Power Plants ++ Mass Action Planned for Late May in the Ruhr Region ++ The action alliance Ende Gelände has announced a mass act of civil disobedience for late May to oppose the expansion of gas-fired power plants in the Ruhr region. The alliance, which has become known for its large-scale blockade actions in lignite mines, is thus building on previous protests. Ende Gelände aims to highlight the climate-damaging effects of fossil gas and the many other risks that the action coalition believes are associated with it. The activists want to achieve a rapid phase-out of gas.
